Terfezia, Latin for desert truffles (Kamā in Arabic, or كمأة), is one of the most exclusive, pioneering and authentic mushroom truffle companies around. It was conceived in 2012 by a former banker who first discovered his obsession for these tubers at an early age during his frequent non-tuber-Kamā hunting trips in the North African deserts.

The founder, like so many others, took the conventional route of studying finance and working at an investment bank before trading his corporate career to pursue his long-term fascination for those prized ‘Diamonds of the Kitchen’.

Terfezia partners with producers and farmers that are as passionate about growing as the chefs are about cooking. The team is committed to using fresh, ethically sourced ingredients and goes to great lengths researching the finest sustainable produce. As such, a partnership was formed with a very earnest and veteran Tartufaio, in the ingredient-rich province of Pesaro e Urbino of Le Marche in Italy, putting us enroute to sustainably source the finest ingredients while minimising waste. Furthermore, our customers benefit from working directly with the source, with no third parties involved. Terfezia currently imports fresh truffles from truffières in eight different countries in Europe, Oceania, Middle East, and South America.
